Pine Forest Pre-Primary keeps up with Covid-19 regulations

BRYANSTON – The school would like the parents to know that it continues to work hard to create a safe learning environment.

One week into the reopening of schools, Pine Forest Pre-Primary School in Bryanston highlights that even the smallest of humans require the same important safety and care during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The pre-primary school implemented a number of stringent measures before welcoming its learners and parents on 8 June.

“These include checking temperatures, hand sanitising and the spraying of disinfectant on shoes and bags.  All adults are issued with PPE [personal protective equipment] and the little children use either their colourful hat or face-shield combo or face mask for different times of the day,” said communications liaison Brenda Shaw.

Pine Forest is fortunate enough to have a large playground, sports fields and a hall area which allows the learners to play and interact with one another all while maintaining a 2m distance.

Shaw added that because the learners are still quite young, the school has elevated the ‘fun parts’ of the learner’s daily routine to counteract the seriousness of the Covid-19 protocols.

“More music will be played with lots of dancing fun, outdoor reading activities (weather permitting), and more outside play with the teachers ensuring that the mornings are fun-filled and stimulating.”

While the school continues to make provisions for online learning, the school would like parents to know that it continues to work hard to create a safe learning environment.

“The lockdown has been difficult for young children and Pine Forest is doing everything it can to ensure the continued health and safety of the children and adults,” concluded Shaw.
