Saints is ready! – Lesufi

LYME PARK – The school has taken a phased approach, welcoming its Grade 12 learners on Monday (1 June) and its Grade 7 learners on Friday (5 June).

All eyes were on St Sthithians College on 28 May as Gauteng MEC of Education Panyaza Lesufi kicked off his series of private school compliance visits.

Lesufi admitted that he had a soft spot for the school but remained confident in its compliance.

“St Stithians is more than prepared come Monday. I am more than happy with what I have seen,” said the MEC.

According to St Stithians communications manager Annie Fyfe-Hitchings, the school has implemented a number of measures throughout the campus to ensure the safety of its learners and staff.

These measures include temperature screening before and after school, social distancing in classrooms, separate screening facilities for staff and learners, and the creation of the Covid-19 clinic.

“This building, which was originally an abandoned rector’s residence, has been turned into a clinic that will welcome staff members and learner who present any symptoms,” said girls college rector Celeste Gilardi.
