The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed 1 453 cases of Covid-19 in Johannesburg with 1 111 recoveries as of 25 May.
The city’s northern suburbs of regions B and E remain at the epicentre of the virus outbreak in the district.
Region B has reported 221 cases and recoveries 168 while Region E has reported 320 and 274 recoveries.
Suburbs in Region B include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.
Suburbs in Region E include Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.
Unallocated cases stand at 136 with 85 recoveries.
