The City of Johannesburg joined forces with SDI Force and the waste pickers organisation Wastepreneurs to create a safe and clean environment at the Sandton Public Transport Interchange
The waste pickers sanitised the facility as well as the taxis themselves.

MMC for Community Development Margaret Arnolds, MMC Eunice Mgcina and Region E director Liziwe Ntshinga-Makoro today (20 May) inspected the progress made at the Sandton Public Transport Interchange.
Mgcina said that the City welcomes the work done by SDI Force and the Wastepreneurs.
“We encourage the private sector and corporate South Africa to contribute and join the City in the fight against Covid-19,” she added.

“Social distancing measures are in place here at the Sandton taxi rank. It is now up to commuters to adhere and abide by the Covid-19 regulations,” said Arnolds.
