Joburg northern suburbs Covid-19 cases rise by 2

SANDTON – Regions B and E record a combined increase of 2 cases as of 5 May.

The Gauteng Department of Health reported that the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, Regions B and E, remain at the epicentre of the virus in the city as of 5 May.

The department confirmed that Johannesburg recorded 971 confirmed cases, 627 recoveries and 93 unallocated cases.

Region B and E record a combined total of 421 confirmed cases.

Region B, which includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North, recorded 156 cases.

Region E, which includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove, and Houghton, recorded 265 confirmed cases.
