The Add Hope Foundation commits to families in need

BRYANSTON – KFC's Add Hope Foundation distributes over 10 000 food parcels to those indeed during the national lockdown.

The Add Hope Foundation has extended a helping hand to over 10 000 families.

KFC’s Add Hope Foundation has partnered with a number of beneficiary networks to distribute over 10 000 emergency parcels to families in need during the 21-day national lockdown. The foundation recently celebrated a decade of community service at its head offices in Bryanston ensuring that it remains committed to the community.

Chief marketing officer Dhruv Kaul highlighted that the R2 donations by customers have raised more than R700 million, feeding over 130 000 kids a day with an estimated 30 million meals a year.

According to corporate social investment and sponsorship manager Andra Ferreria Nel, during this lockdown the community needs all they help that they can get. “Normally there are neighbours that will help out but they now need to reserve their food for themselves and their own immediate family.”

The emergency parcels compiled by the foundation contain non-perishable food items and hygiene products that are estimated to last a family for about three weeks. Nel added that with the help of a number of organisations and the R2 donations, the foundation has been able to feed 10 000 families during the lockdown thus far.

“The response has been incredible, I am left speechless by the amount of incredible heroes that are out there and willing to do what they need to do to serve the community and get food to them. We see people every day that are putting on their masks, putting on their gloves and going out there distributing the much-needed food to communities that have none.”

The emergency parcels have thus far been distributed to Ga Mashamothane in Limpopo and Orange Farm, Diepsloot and Alexandra in Gauteng to name a few.

Nel would like to encourage the communities to partner with Add Hope so that it is able to reach as many people in need as possible. “We really want to call on the communities to collaborate with us as we continue our efforts are far as we possibility can.”
