Covid-19: Gautrain suspends services for lockdown period

JOBURG – Customers can still contact Gautrain Customer Services for any inquiries or for refunds.

Gautrain is complying with the Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula’s announcement that all commuter rail services will shut down for the duration of the national lockdown.

This is according to a statement published on 26 March.

Additional security measures will be implemented during this period to protect the Gautrain infrastructure. The tracks will remain powered during the lockdown and security will continue to patrol and monitor the alignment.

The Gautrain’s Refund Team will be working remotely, therefore it will be able to process refunds during this time. “Our Customer Care Team will also be working remotely and remains available to assist passenger inquiries.”

Gautrain urges the public to abide by the regulations of the lockdown and to join virtual hands as a nation to end this pandemic.

“We wish to use this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every person who will be working in essential services during the lockdown to help keep our country afloat during these trying times. We salute you!”
