Redhill swims for success

MORNINGSIDE – Redhill School celebrates a tremendous swimming season.

The accolades keep coming for Redhill High School’s swimming team.

Ending off last year with a double crown from the Inter-High Swimming Gala – best school spirit and winners of the B League – the swimming team entered into this year’s A-League on 7 March with the heads held high.

“Although many would consider promotion into the A-League as a very intimidating prospect, Redhill’s coaches and swimmers simply doubled their efforts,” said the school’s spokesperson Shelli Nurcombe-Thorne.

The team finished second at their first A-League Inter-High Gala on by a considerable points’ margin from third place. “Accompanied by a highly spirited group of supporters who did themselves proud, Redhill swimmers are winners wherever they go.”

The team’s crowning glory arrived a few days later at the gala when no fewer than 32 of their swimmers were selected to compete for medals at the Prestige Gala.

“Redhill High School’s performance in the A League Inter-High Swimming Gala spearheads a new era in the school’s goal-minded culture of success – one that sees individuals and teams in a wide range of sports, growing in stature and asserting themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

“Judging from their recent triumphs in cricket and netball festivals, Redhill appears set to enjoy a bumper year on the sporting calendar.”
