State power utility Eskom said they did not expect to implement load-shedding this weekend even though the generation system remained constrained.
In a statement, Eskom said unplanned breakdowns remained at the 10 500MW mark. “There is a possibility that we may have to implement load-shedding at short notice should there be an unexpected change in the generation system performance.”
Eskom has not implemented load-shedding since 22 February and are currently conducting maintenance work on ageing plants.
