UPDATE: Julius Malema hands over memorandum to Eskom CEO at Megawatt Park
SUNNINGHILL – Thousands of EFF protesters made their way to Megawatt Park despite heavy rains.
Earlier this evening:
EFF protesters arrived at Megawatt Park to hand over a memorandum of demands to Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter.
The protesters arrived at Megawatt Park several hours later than originally indicated however the protesters remained undeterred despite heavy rains.
EFF president, Julius Malema, said to his supporters that they will continue to march until their demands are met.

Earlier today:
About 300 Economic Freedom Fighters are expected to be making their way to the Eskom’s headquarters at Megawatt Park.
The men and women in red will be marching against load shedding and the privatisation of Eskom today (28 February).
The march will start at Innesfree Park in Sandton at 9 am to Eskom Megawatt Park.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department’s spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said traffic will be diverted in Sandton to accommodate the march but the police will be present to monitor the scene. Minnaar also said that the roads that will be affected include Grayston Drive, Rivonia and Witkoppen roads.
Motorists are therefore advised to avoid the above-mentioned roads until after 3 pm. “Alternative routes can include Sandton Drive and William Nicol,” said Minnaar.
