Saints boys celebrate

LYME PARK – Learners of St Stithians Boys' College collected their matric results and certificates in triumph on 7 January.


After a year of hard work, the St Stithians Boys’ College matric Class of 2019 collected their matric results and certificates in triumph on 7 January.

The class achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, with 97 per cent of candidates being awarded their bachelor pass.

Timothy Basson and Muhammad Uthman Moola were placed on the IEB’s list for outstanding achievement, meaning that they placed in the top 5 per cent of learners in six subjects and 80 per cent or more for life orientation. They both received eight distinctions.

The trio of students all achieved summa cum laude, which is an average of 90 per cent and above.

Receiving seven distinctions were Alwyn Barnard, Angelo Galatis, Iviwe Matikinca, Jonathan Temperley, Jaedon van Schalkwyk.

Head of St Stithians Boys’ College David du Toit said, “The Class of 2019 at St Stithians Boys’ College has achieved excellent results in their final examinations, and we are proud of them.

“These results are the product of hard work, dedication and academic inquisitiveness but also of the significant contributions of their parents, peers and our dedicated staff. They have engaged passionately, thoughtfully and empathetically in preparing to have a positive impact on the world they will inhabit.”

Rector and executive head Tim Nutall added, “I hope that every Saints’ boy in the Class of 2019 has achieved their goals and that their academic achievements are the steppingstone to their lives of significance and influence as adults.
