Zombies hit the streets for Halloween night ride

SANDTON – The night creatures came out to play for the Critical Mass annual Halloween cycle ride.

The zombies and ghouls took to the streets of Sandton for the Critical Mass Halloween Ride. The social cycling club hosts its annual spooky ride which begins at the Benmore Gardens Shopping Centre.

Riders were encouraged to dress up in their scariest outfits and let the skeletons, witches and ghosts hit the streets of Sandton on their bicycles. According to one of the event organisers, Lisa O Neill, the Halloween ride has always been one of its biggest and most festive rides.

Cyclists of all ages ventured down the streets of Sandton pausing at a halfway stop in Rosebank for food and drinks before heading back to the shopping centre.

Critical Mass is a monthly 9km cycling event hosted on the last Friday of every month at 6.30pm. “Critical Mass is for all young and old that loves our bicycles and the joy of just riding them in a social environment. We have reflective vests for most riders sponsored by ‘Stay Wider of the Rider – Pedal Power Organization’ so that motorists can see us,” added O Neill.
