Community members celebrate anniversary of Ernest Ullmann Recreation Centre

MORNINGSIDE – Community members enjoyed a day filled with entertainment to celebrate the anniversary.

Community members enjoyed a fun-filled day at the Ernest Ullmann Recreation Centre to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the recreation centre on 14 September.

The property was given to the City of Johannesburg in 1979 by the Ullmann family. The property once belonged to the famous South African artist Ernest Ullmann who passed away in 1978. Ullmann lived on for many years, where he had horses and cattle and did all his artwork and sculptures.

The day also included a range of sports options including mini tennis, basketball and soccer. Gymnasts and dancers also took the opportunity to put on a range of performances throughout the day.
