Watch – About 150 protesters march for animal rights in Sandton
SANDTON – Animal rights organisations gathered in Sandton to protest animal rights violations.
The Official Animal Rights March which takes place worldwide had its Johannesburg edition at George Lea Park South in Parkmore, Sandton, 24 August.
The march aims to create awareness of the suffering of animals by uniting against the industries which use and exploit animals, including liberating animals worldwide. Founded by United Kingdom (UK) animal rights organisation Surge, the march began in London in 2016 with 2,500 attendees and by 2018 the global attendance rose up to 28,000 animal lovers marching in 25 cities across the world, demanding an end to all animal oppression.
Many animal rights organisations such as Ban Animal Trading, Beauty Without Cruelty and Women of the World Against Taij and animal lovers were united and stood up for animal rights, this publication’s journalist Laura Pisanello is tweeting live from the march, follow her tweets here
