Public urged to participate in Sandton Summit Precinct Plan process

SANDTON – The public participation gives the public the opportunity to engage with the key documents of the Sandton Precinct Plan draft before it is sent to the City of Joburg council for approval.

The MMC of Development Planning councillor Reuben Masongo has urged the public, any interested and affected stakeholders to submit their formal comments on the final draft of the Sandton Summit Precinct Plan 2019.

The public participation process is set for 60 days as of 21 August to 21 October,  in partnership with the City of Johannesburg, studioMAS Architects and Urban Designs for the approval of the integrated precinct plan.

The aim of the plan is to set out the development framework and guidelines to the areas known as Sandton Summit Precinct which include Inanda, Atholl, Wierda Valley, Dennehof, Sandown and Sandhurst – the draft will then be adopted by the City’s council for approval.

Public engagement will be on 11 September at Region E Customer Service Centre, corner of Grayston Drive, 137 Daisy Street, Sandton.

Masongo said, “We appeal to all affected residents and stakeholders to take part in this public participation process. The public participation process of a precinct plan is designed to give members of the public an opportunity to engage with key documents, as well as allow them to have a say in how their areas are transformed and developed.”
