Police launch manhunt for suspects involved in jewellery robbery

BRYANSTON – It's alleged the suspects held security guards at gunpoint to enter the premises.


Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for an unconfirmed number of suspects following a robbery in Bryanston.

Captain Mavela Masondo, spokesperson for Gauteng Provincial Police said the robbery took place at jewellery premises on 9 August.

“It is alleged that the suspects who were armed with pistols entered the office park and held the guarding security guards at gunpoint,” he said.

“The suspects then proceeded to the premises and broke the security doors and took an undisclosed amount of jewellery.”

He added that a case of business robbery had been opened for investigation and no arrests have been made yet.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing to anyone who might have information that can assist in arresting the suspects to call the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
