UPDATE: About 8 houses without water for 24 hours

MAGALIESSIG – Contractors will be completing the work of installing new water pipes today, (1 August) as they could not complete it yesterday (31 July).

Ward 93 councillor, Candice James said that the Johannesburg Water team will complete the installation of pipes and the new meters today, 1 August. 

According to James, contractors will be installing the remaining water pipes and meters today, 1 August as they were unable to complete it yesterday, 31 July.

“There will be certain areas/ houses without water during the day,” James said.

Eight houses are said to have been without water for the past 24 hours and some houses are experiencing low water pressure.

James also said there was a planned water shutdown, as reported below, where new water pipes were being installed and a tie-in was being conducted.

Johannesburg Water has informed residents in Bryanston and Magaliesslig of a planned water shutdown on the 31 July.

The disruption is expected to start from 8am until 5.30pm, residents can expect no water as Joburg Water technicians will conduct a tie-in.

Streets to be affected are Troupant Avenue, Glenian Road, Pollock Lane, and Sparrow Drive.

Water tanks will be made available.
