Suspect arrested during police patrol in Sandown

SANDOWN – A 22-year-old man was found in possession of a motorbike linked to a theft in Pretoria.


A 22-year-old man was arrested by members of the Sandton Police Station during a patrol in Sandown.

Captain Granville Meyer, the spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station said, “In order to prevent and combat crime that may threaten the safety and security of the community, vigilant police members on patrol arrested a suspect for possession of a stolen motorbike in Sandown.”

The man was arrested at a shopping centre in Sandown after police members on patrol randomly tested the motorbike for ownership. The members found that it was positively linked to a theft case in the Brooklyn area in Pretoria.

The suspect is currently in detention and will appear in court soon.
