Sandton SPCA celebrates Mandela Day

SANDTON – The Sandton SPCA team participate in the Mandela Day campaign.

Corporate teams and members of the public gathered at the Sandton SPCA to participate in various activities including painting the wooden kennels, the walls, gates and cow ramps. Those with green thumbs got stuck into the gardens and left it looking super tidy and beautiful.

The team enjoyed dishing out kisses and giving the animals all the love they deserved. “I believe that as a society we should all be giving back some of our skills and time to the community who are less fortunate,” said Ralph Hohls, the general manager of the Sandton SPCA.

“Mandela Day is a great reminder of that and an excellent way for people to get involved in a meaningful connection with our community,” continued Hohls.

The centre welcomed food donations from the public and extended their gratitude to everyone who assisted on the day, “We are thankful to everyone for their hard work and generosity,” said Wilna Lamb, the Sandton SPCA education officer.
