Fifteen people injured in a taxi and truck collision

MORNINGSIDE – Fifteen people were left injured yesterday afternoon (27 June) when a taxi and truck collided at the Flamboyant and Outspan Road intersection in Morningside.


According to a statement released by ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring on 27 June, ER24 and other emergency services, arrived at the scene at 3pm to find a taxi and the truck in the middle of the intersection.

The passengers from the taxi were found lying on the road or seated on the pavement.

Mering said that paramedics assessed the patients and found that four people had sustained critical injuries while 11 others had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

“The patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically and seriously injured provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to various hospitals for further care,” said Meiring.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
