Wesley Pre-School fundraiser draws a crowd

Bryanston – Fundraiser draws a crowd for a charity drive held by Wesley Pre-School.

It was a morning of mouthwatering food at Rockets restaurant at the Hobart Grove Centre, Bryanston on 25 May.

This was a charity event hosted by Wesley Pre-school.

“It was well supported and absolutely great fun,” said the organisers of the event.

Children’s clothes, toys and stationary were among the items that were donated by the attendees.

The guest speaker was Francious Joubert, a member of The Character Company, which is a non-profit organisation aimed at helping raise young boys to be good men with strong values, thereby positively impacting families, communities, and society. Joubert addressed the crowd by sharing insights into how to raise honest, responsible and courageous young men.

Christine Wrathall, principal of Wesley Pre-school, said, “The children’s clothes, toys, and stationery that were collected at the event will be donated to children in need and the funds raised will go to enhancing the family-centered school that caters for kids from all walks of life.”

The event was also held to honour the 40 years that the school has been in existence. “The school was founded due to a need for a four-term feeder nursery school for the primary schools in the area. There was also a need for a Christian school,” said Wrathall.

“We have been serving the Bryanston and surrounding areas for many years and look forward to the years ahead.”

There were incredible hampers and spot hampers being handed out at the event, such as full-body massages, a Tupperware hamper and a sponsored bouquet of flowers. It also included a haircut and blow-dry for the ladies in the crowd.

The event closed with an auction of a painting painted by one of the moms from Wesley Pre-school, which was auctioned off for approximately R1 000.
