Metro police cuff three suspects in Byranston for armed robbery

The Joburg Metro police’s Freeway Unmarked Unit officers arrested three suspects in Bryanston in connection to an armed robbery.

This was part of the City’s intensified Buya Mthetho campaign, as reported on the Ask the Chief JMPD Facebook page.

 

“Officers received a lookout of a silver Toyota Corolla with [three] suspects in it, traveling on the N1 South towards the William Nicol [Drive],” read the post.

“These suspects had [allegedly] committed armed robbery at the N1 North at Rivonia Road. [One] suspect had been already apprehended by officers of #EMPD [Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Unit] Swat Unit.”

The post further stated that when the Joburg Metro police’s Freeway Unmarked Unit officers spotted the silver Toyota Corolla with three occupants, the suspects were chased towards Sloane Street in Bryanston, where they were apprehended and one firearm was recovered.
