#JoziWalks to rock the streets of Joburg

BRAAMFONTEIN – Twelve exciting #JoziWalks2019 announced for 18 to 19 May.

The annual #JoziWalks series is back with a unique and authentic walking tour which is hosted and led by passionate Jozi residents who want to help other Joburgers discover the communities found across the city.

Douglas Cohen of Johannesburg Development Agency said, “This year we have another 12 new and exciting walks taking place on 18 and 19 May. They are walks that offer Jozi residents unique experiences and are a fantastic way to discover a part of the city that you may never have explored.”

#JoziWalks aims to get Joburgers onto the streets to explore the city on foot and engage with their neighbours and local communities. They also aim to enable people to discover and share insights and ideas about the neighbourhoods they walk.

This year, 12 walks have been chosen from the more than 35 applications received from across a number of the diverse neighbourhoods that make up the City of Johannesburg. This is a 30 per cent increase from the number of applications received last year.

“These walks were chosen because they celebrate the real Joburg and the people and places within this dynamic city, they aim to foster community connection and will offer insights into what makes neighbourhoods tick,” Cohen said.

Bookings for the #JoziWalks2019 weekend will open on April 17. Tickets are free but prior booking will be essential for each walk, as space is limited. For more information visit their social media pages.
