Community members invited to attend the memorial of Luewellyn Pillay

KELVIN – The memorial for Luewellyn Pillay will be held on 30 March at Zinto Marketing Hall from 4pm.

Community members are invited to attend the memorial service of community leader Luewellyn Pillay.

Pillay, who dedicated his time to improving the safety of Sandton residents, passed away following a long infection related to a double lung transplant he underwent last year.

Pillay played a pivotal role in the Sandton Guardians and the Kelvin Residents Association and was passionate about his community. Pillay’s efforts to improve community safety began in 2016 following the murder of a woman down the street from his home. This tragedy motivated him to play an active role in keeping his family, and community safe.

His memorial will be held on 30 March at the Zinto Marketing Hall in Linbro Park at 4 pm.

After the memorial supper will be served. Pillay’s family invite community members to pay their final respects to Pillay.

The Pillay family thank the Sandton Community Policing Forum, the Kelvin Residents Association, the Sandton Guardians and friends and family who have offered support and condolences to the family during this time.
