King David Sandton learner selected as mayor of Johannesburg Mini Council

SANDTON – The council will work to develop leadership skills in Grade 7 learners.


A King David Sandton learner has been announced as the president of the Johannesburg Mini Council.

Benjamin Ginsberg was elected as mini-mayor for 2019. Liana Wes, also a learner at Kind David, was appointed as the vice-chair of Special Projects.

The Mini Council supports different charities and fund-raising activities around Johannesburg. The Johannesburg Mini Council has been effecting change in the lives of our youth for over four decades. With a specific focus on Grade 7 learners, the leadership lessons they learn are invaluable to their future development.

The induction ceremony was held at Holy Rosary Convent on 12. It was an exciting evening when Ben’s name was announced. There were loud cheers from his co-councillors who had voted him in and the whole hall rose as one and gave him a standing ovation.

Ben’s induction speech was excellent, very motivational and was followed by loud applause.
