Crawford College Sandton places sixth in National College Golf championship

SANDTON – The two learners competed against 20 other schools during the tournament.


Two Crawford College learners took part in the National College Golf Championship at the Dainfern Country Club.

Amilka Bhana and Adam Abro represented Crawford College Sandton at this prestigious tournament, which is a recognised tournament for ranking players in the National League. A number of players at the tournament are ranked in the top 10 in the country. Amilka and Adam both played phenomenal rounds during round one, with Amilka ending the day placing third individually with a score of two under par for the day.

Adam scored three over par for the day placing him 16th out of a field of 78 players and placing the Crawford College Sandton team third on the day with a combined score of plus three.

Unfortunately, day two proved extremely challenging for both players resulting in the team dropping out of the top three.

During the final day of the tournament, the boys had an outstanding round ending in the sixth position for the Team Section and Amilka, with an overall score of one under par, came third in the individual competition. This was their first tournament with 36 teams for 2019 from 20 schools competing in the tournament.
