ALEXANDRA – Twala has appealed to those who have more to reach out and lend helping hand to those who are less fortunate.

The victims of the storms in Alexandra on 14 January received tons of clothes and food parcel donations from local philanthropy and businessman Linda Twala.

Twala, who is celebrating 52 years of his community service this year, handed out tons of clothes and food parcels to the victims of storm disaster that left some community members with no roofs over their heads. Twala said the clothes were donated by the Sandton Fire Station while meat and food parcels were donated by Moishe Butchery.

“The recipients of these donations are people, some of whom lost their houses during the storm disaster on the 14th of January this year. Some have lost their shacks and valuables in the recent devastating fire incident that left more than 500 families displaced in December last year. It is our responsibility as people who do business locally to help in situations like this,” he said.

Twala has appealed to those who have more to reach out lend helping hand to those who are less fortunate.

“We should make it a norm to help when people are faced with difficult moments. If I have two loaves of bread and my neighbour has nothing I must give one to him.

“Disaster incidents can happen to anyone. If it’s me today, we don’t know who it will be tomorrow.”
