Hyde Park celebrates excellence

HYDE PARK – Learners who excelled in academics, sports and the arts were celebrated during a prize-giving.


Hyde Park High School hosted its annual honours evening on 5 February to celebrate their learners who achieved fantastic results.

This celebrated event is the platform for the school to acknowledge and recognise academic, sporting and cultural excellence. The headmaster Manolis Vogiatzis expressed that all those who were invited to this prestigious event were a shining example of the excellence that the school strives to promote.

Grade 12 learner Reece Govender received his merit award for accounting (cum laude), life orientation (cum laude), mathematics (magna cum laude), physical science (cum laude) as well as receiving a special achievement award for engineering graphics and design and mathematics. Reece received his full academic colours as well as full colours for chess.
