Video footage of an attempted robbery has emerged, but the would-be criminals were outsmarted this time.
The incident happened on 9 January in Morningside and shows the victim in a red Range Rover pull into an access-controlled complex.
Shortly afterwards, a silver Volkswagen Tiguan pulls up behind the victim.
The footage shows four suspects jump out of the vehicle and attempt to rob the victim, however, the victim pushed through the gate and managed to evade the attackers.

After their failed attempt, they climb back into the car and speed off.
Captain Granville Meyer, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, confirmed the incident happened.
Meyer said it is alleged the complainant came from a shopping centre and while she waited for the gate to open her complex, a silver SUV pulled up behind her.
He added that the suspects jumped out of the vehicle. “One with a firearm in his hand who pointed it at her. When she noticed this she drove through the gate.”
“Her vehicle was damaged due to this incident and she immediately contacted the police.”
Meyer said a case of pointing of firearm was opened.
