Rapist’s futile apology

MARLBORO GARDENS – Victim awakened by neighbour raping her

 

A man who admitted to having raped a neighbour was remanded in custody by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court pending further investigation.

The accused of Marlboro Gardens was denied bail. He admitted to the police to raping the victim at 2am on 28 December last year. She went to bed with her son the previous night after securing the house and was awakened by a man on top of her.

He had penetrated her without a condom. When she fought back, the man got up, unlocked the door and left. She followed and saw that it was the accused as he ran into and locked himself in his room.

She knocked on his door, accused him of the rape and he apologised saying that he wouldn’t do it again.

The victim reported the incident to the police and tests taken proved that she had been raped. He was arrested and denied bail.
