Stephanie de Luca Wirtz and Martin Sefzig celebrate their German heritage at Lycee Jules Verne French international school.

The world cultural tour was part of a larger international event, ‘Week of French Schools’ around the world.

Lemazurier-Bossinof said some of the parents at the school volunteered to set up stands of their country of origin to celebrate their heritage. “The exhibition saw 30 nationalities on the day and parents presented objects, crafts, photos, films, music, and of course some of their country’s delicacies,” added Lemazurier-Bossinof.

Parents and learners of the French school embody the Cameroon culture.

She said the learners of the pre-school and primary school visited the stands and had to find answers to a questionnaire by chatting with the parents.

“The younger learners visited stands and tasted all the delicious food.”

Keza, Eamonn and Tara-Marie Ryan represent the Irish culture.

Lemazurier-Bossinof said all the parents and high school learners were invited to visit the cultural exhibition.

“The atmosphere was laid back and very joyful, and learners and parents ended up dancing to international music such as the Latin hit, Macarena.”

She concluded that it was a multicultural happy day.
