Message from the Sandton SPCA

SANDTON – The Sandton SPCA had a busy year and assisted hundreds of animals.

The Sandton SPCA would like to thank the community for their continued support during the year.

Jaco Pieterse, general manager for the Sandton SPCA said they are thankful to each and every member in the community that contributed to their cause. “Without which, we would not, and will not, be able to rescue animals and protect them from abuse.”

He continued that 2018 has been a busy year for the Sandton SPCA. “From the beginning of the year, the Sandton SPCA took in over 900 stray dogs and cats, more than 1 400 unwanted dogs and cats.”

He said their clinic treated over 1 400 dogs and cats and sterilised more than 1 300 dogs and cats.

“Our Inspectors attended to over 550 animal cruelty complaints and issued 560 warnings between January and October.

“This has all been made possible because of the kind donations we receive from our community and supporters.”

The SPCA receives no funding from the government and solely rely on public support.
