Rain to bring down temperature

JOBURG – There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms in Gauteng today.

Temperatures are expected to cool down the province as widespread thunderstorms are expected today, 19 December.

The much-needed rain will bring relief to the province after the heatwave earlier this month that saw temperatures reach a whopping 37°C.

The South African Weather Services said the 30 percent chance of a thunderstorms in Joburg was expected today.

Forecaster for the weather services, Kgolofelo Mahlangu, said there was no warning of flash floods or strong winds.

“The rain is expected to end on Wednesday. It will bring the temperatures down. The rain in the southern parts of Gauteng is expected to develop then it will move to the northern parts of the province. “
