A vehicle has caught fire on the N1 South near the Rivonia Road off-ramp in Sandton.
A video, posted by the Intelligence Bureau, on Facebook, shows the Johannesburg Emergency Services firefighters dousing the shell of the vehicle that is completely burnt out.
The vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee was parked in the emergency lane and it’s unclear what caused the fire.
Nana Radebe, spokesperson for the Joburg Emergency Services said the fire engine that responded was coming from a house fire when they found the vehicle engulfed in flames on the N1 and started to extinguish the fire.
“Fortunately injuries of fatalities were reported.”
