Police foil hijacking outside school in Sandown, three suspects arrested

SANDTON – Three hijacking suspects were arrested after they attempted to hijack a vehicle.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members in conjunction with the Johannesburg Metro Police Department arrested three suspects after an attempted hijacking outside a school in Sandown .

The incident happened on 15 October and according to Captain Granville Meyer, the men aged between 28 and 38 years old attempted to hijack a motor vehicle when the owner stopped at an intersection.

Meyer said the members responded quickly and arrested the suspects.

“The suspects are currently in detention and will appear in court soon,” said Meyer.
