Redhill School announces new leaders for next year

MORNINGSIDE – The executive committee were elected following a rigorous selection process.

Redhill School hosted their handover assembly where they announced the leaders for next year following a rigorous selection process.

Georgina Agar and Talullah Memani were announced as deputy head girl and head girl respectively. Luke Ashton will take the position of deputy head boy and David Okaro will be head boy.

The head of Redhill High School, Dimitra Adramitoglou said that the school is incredibly proud of the four head leaders who have been appointed as they embody the school’s values of care, commitment, confidence, courage and curiosity. “Georgina, Luke, Talullah and David are exceptional leaders. They serve their school with excellence, academically, on the sports field and in the cultural sphere. We have every confidence in them, as they prepare to lead Redhill High School.”

The four head leaders will be assisted by executive committees. These committees are involved in numerous projects and activities, thereby developing essential aspects of leadership, whilst simultaneously contributing to the success of the school’s day-to-day activities.

In order to maximise the functioning of the executive committees, the school has this year decided to introduce a new leadership position. This new leadership position will be the head of the executive committees which Jemma Smith will head. The spirit master for next year was announced as Tinashe Chitakira.

In addition, the executive committee also includes the house captains, who will lead the four houses in the High School. These leaders include Angelique Abraham, Liam Olivier, Andrea Mambo, Thierry Moore, Nastassja Tyron and Vuyo Papiyana, Joëlle Foggitt and Tawanda Mandonga.

Executive head of Redhill School Joseph Gerass, said, “These students possess resilience, creativity and self-belief. In the Redhill way, they have taken ownership of their learning and self-growth and I believe they will make the most of their recent appointments to nurture further personal growth.”
