JOBURG – We take a look at news coming from the City of Johannesburg this week.

This week, the City of Johannesburg appeals for assistive devices for people with disabilities and 71 properties in the inner city are released to the private sector for developing affordable housing.

City Power’s new head of operations, Isaac Ramopedi, spoke to Rosebank Killarney Gazette about switching gears from reactive to proactive maintenance plans for the City’s power utility entity. “The biggest challenge is to normalise the electric network,” he said. “We have not done active maintenance in a long time and we are only in a reactionary mode, instead of being proactive.” Read: New power game plan
