During the operation, the convoy drove through the streets of Bryanston and stopped at identified key points to look for suspicious activity.

National reaction manager for Fidelity/ADT Ivan Shore said the main challenges in the area are the housebreakings and robberies which occur between 3pm until around 8pm.

Colonel Stanley Sibitane, visible policing commander at the Sandton Police Station said the teamwork with security is part of their integrated approach to crime prevention.

He said the day was a success as it is the beginning of the partnership with a company who are availing their resources. “It was a success because of the show of force and the criminals can see that the security companies are on board for crime prevention.”

He added that the next step is to follow up on information they received, do proper planning and then focus on the identified areas.
