R21 000 donated to Rainbows and Smiles

SANDTON – To celebrate its 21st anniversary, Minuteman Press recently donated R21 000 to the Rainbows and Smiles charity.

 

Minuteman Press in Strijdom Park recently donated R21 000 to charity Rainbows and Smiles to celebrate its 21st anniversary.

To celebrate this milestone, all invoices generated between January and April were entered into a draw with the winner nominating a charity of their choice to receive a donation of R 21 000.

The lucky winner Contact Media and Communications was drawn on 7 May and they nominated Rainbows and Smiles as their preferred charity.

Rainbows and Smiles provide emotional, social and financial support to families of childhood cancer sufferers.

On Monday 21 May, councillor Mike Wood of Ward 104, on behalf of Contact Media and Communications, presented the cheque for R21 000 to Rainbows and Smiles.

Lesley Degossely, head of finance and operations at Contact Media and Communications, Nadia Lewis, project manager at Rainbows and Smiles, Mike Wood, ward 104 councillor, Bonni Suckling, founder of Rainbows and Smiles and Sean Press, the chief executive officer at Contact Media and Communications.

On hand to witness the occasion was Bonni Suckling (founder) and Nadia Lewis (project manager) of Rainbows and Smiles along with Sean Press, chief executive officer and Lesley Degossely, head of finance and operations for Contact Media and Communications.

Wood congratulated the winners, Contact Media and Communications for selecting Rainbows and Smiles, who he praised for their wonderful work in the community.

Minuteman Press Strijdom Park was established 21 years ago by brothers Ian and Warwick Corder.

It was the fourth Minuteman Press store to open in South Africa. The group now numbers 50 shops countrywide.

The business opened its doors in Strijdom Park on 1st April 1997 with a team of three. It has twice outgrown the original premises and in 2006 moved to Ferndale. It now employs a staff of ten.
