WATCH: Two suspects caught on camera before an attempted home invasion

SANDTON – Video footage of two alleged criminals crawling through the garden of a Bryanston resident has emerged.

Video footage has emerged showing two suspects crawling through the garden of a Bryanston resident shortly before an attempted home invasion.

The video, dated 7 May, shows two suspects crawling across the lawn on all fours just before 4am.

The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous out of fear for her safety, provided the Sandton Chronicle with details about what happened.

She said that her husband woke up in the early morning because he heard a noise. “We have four dogs in the bedroom and one of them also sat upright to listen.

“My husband got up to look outside and saw the two armed men standing on the balcony outside our bedroom.” She said the intruders were wearing gloves and balaclavas, and luckily they ran away when her husband shouted at them.

According to the victim, they have layers of electric fences and sensor beams installed but the two suspects managed to crawl underneath them.

“They gained access to the property by removing a slab from our pre-cast wall.” She said their property is close to an empty stand and that is affecting their safety.

The victim believes that the suspects are the same two people who were seen on CCTV footage in April when two people can be seen running through her property after they had attempted to break into a neighbour’s house.

They were also victim to a home invasion around five years ago. “We were dragged around the house with guns to our heads,” ended the victim.

According to Andre Snyman of eBlockwatch, robbers are targeting the Bryanston area. “We believe they are on foot and they know the area very well.”

Snyman said there had been two other incidents in the past week.

Sandton Police Station has been approached for comment, however, nothing was received by the time of publication. The story will be updated once it has been received.
