Top story of the week: High-speed police chase ends in Waterfall, three Rolex Gang members arrested

WATERFALL – Heavily armed suspects are said to have been on their way to the Sandton CBD area.

Johannesburg Flying Squad has made strides after acting on intelligence which led to the arrest of three suspected Rolex Gang members after a high-speed chase, which ended on the corner of Maxwell Drive and the R55.

Sergeant Desmond Subramoney said, “On 7 March at about 1.30pm, three suspects were arrested and two firearms were found [one Uzi and one 9mm Parabellum] at the scene.”

One suspect is still at large. Subramomey confirmed that no suspects or police officers were injured during the pursuit, however, one woman was injured after the suspect’s vehicle slammed into her. She was transported to a hospital.

Sandton Police Station spokesperson Captain Granville Meyer confirmed the incident took place, and that a BMW was hijacked and used by the suspects.

Traffic has been heavily affected.
