The corner of Oak Avenue and Grove Street, as well as Cross Street and Oak Avenue, have been closed, which is affecting traffic in surrounding areas.

Police have sealed off the area, which is currently affecting traffic.

Just last year in October, a cash-in-transit heist left traffic severely backed up on the highway near the Buccleuch interchange as all lanes were closed due to reports of possible explosives at the scene.

Initial reports at the scene indicated that a Fidelity vehicle was transporting cash from various points and were on their way to Germiston on the N3 near the Buccleuch interchange when they were attacked.

A group of 15 suspects in three vehicles allegedly pulled alongside the vehicle and shot out their front tyres, forcing them to stop.

Explosives were used to blow open the back door and an unknown amount of cash was stolen.
