Brescia revamps jungle gym at children’s home

BRYANSTON – Brescia House School scholars recently completed the repair of the jungle gyms at the Johannesburg Children's Home.

Brescia House School Grade 10s completed their two-day community outreach project last year by fixing up and revamping the jungle gyms at the Johannesburg Children’s Home in Observatory.

Their work was recently finished off by head of operations at Brescia House, Paul Matthews and his team, who also cleaned up the vegetable garden that the Grade 10s dug last year.

Brescia House recently received heartfelt thanks from the managing director of the Johannesburg Children’s Home, Annette Brokensha.

Brokensha wrote to the school and said, “We thank you for the gift of the jungle gym revamp, it is sincerely appreciated. We are acutely aware of the economic pressure that it placed on all households, and continues to grow, and are grateful for all donations made. Your continued support highlights your investment in the children of South Africa and their future.

“Without you, we cannot heal that which has been broken. You are the true heroes in our children’s lives and we thank you.”
