Master Chef competition at Junior College Preschools

SANDTON – The Grade 00s at Junior College Preschools Sandton recently had their very first Master Chef competition to show off their cooking skills.

Junior College Preschools Sandton had their very first Master Chef competition for the Grade 00s.

The children were tasked to bring their ingredients from home and prepare dishes for the judges at the preschool. A variety of dishes were prepared, ranging from extravagant chicken salads to a delicious Pavlova dessert.

One of the judges, Natasha Strydom said, “It was an amazing morning to witness little chefs proudly presenting their dishes.”

Tabitha Cairns, the principal of the preschool mentioned a few benefits of toddlers’ involvement in the kitchen. “Children are able to develop basic math skills through a simple task of counting out eggs or pouring liquid into a measuring cup,” she said.

“Involvement in the kitchen allows your child to also explore and develop their senses and encourages adventurous palates.”
