Help for orphaned children

BRYANSTON - Acres of Love Forever Family Homes recently received a major grant of R800 000 from Herbalife Family Foundtion (HFF) Casa Herbalife programme.

Acres of Love Forever Family Homes recently received a major grant of R800 000 from the Herbalife Family Foundation’s Casa Herbalife programme.

The grant was made up of donations from Herbalife nutrition members, staff, friends and family from South Africa and the Nordic region. A group of 11 Herbalife nutrition members from Norway recently travelled to Bryanston where they met some of the Acres of Love children for the first time and saw the impact of their donation and longstanding partnership.

Acres of Love is a home caring for orphaned and abandoned children with medical conditions including HIV/AIDS, paralysis, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, CHARGE syndrome, Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, hearing and visual impairments, autism and clubfeet.

Chief executive officer and co-founder of Acres of Love, Gerda Audagnotti, said, “It was great to receive our guests from the Nordic countries and see their enthusiasm for our work. This is an amazing and generous donation that will go a very long way in bringing health and holistic care to the children we care for. Thank you, Herbalife Family Foundation.”

Herbalife has been in a ‘nutrition partnership’ with Acres of Love for some time now, ensuring that children have nutrient-rich diets filled with fruit and vegetables.

The 30 Acres of Love Forever Family Homes are based in Johannesburg and Cape Town, focusing on giving each child medical, educational, emotional and nutritional care.

Country director of Herbalife South Africa, Thilo Naidoo said, “Seeing the direct impact of our contributions shows us that the partnership is one that is of immense value to those that need it most.”
