Traffic on the N1 North is heavily congested.

A suspect was shot and killed following a shooting incident on the N1 near the Rivonia Road exit in Sandton this afternoon (6 September).

Captain Kay Makhubela, Gauteng police spokesperson, confirmed the shooting.

No shots were fired by the police.

“The suspects followed a man from the bank and robbed him in Randpark Ridge,” he said.

“The victim was armed and shot at the suspects as they were making their getaway. One suspect was shot and killed.”

Makhubela said the suspects’ vehicle was a Honda, stolen in Olifantsfontein.
