Suspected bogus cops busted in Bryanston

BRYANSTON – According to Andre Snyman, two men have been arrested for impersonating cops.

Sandton resident and Eblockwatch founder, Andre Snyman, has informed the Sandton Chronicle that two men were arrested this morning (3 September) after the community monitoring group noticed a suspicious vehicle in the Bryanston East area.

“Our backApp, which watches our registered Eblockwatch members while they are driving, alerted us to a suspicious vehicle travelling in Bryanston East. We sent out an alert to our ‘CommUnity’ networks, who then informed the police patrolling in Bryanston,” said Snyman.

“The suspects had police uniforms in their boot. They were armed and had a stash of drugs in the boot.”

The suspects were also thought to be posing as Uber drivers.

Attempts to obtain police comment went unanswered. More to follow when further information comes to light.
