WATCH: Blue light brigade crashes on the M1 South before Marlboro

JOBURG - It is reported that the blue light brigade has crashed on the M1 South causing traffic delays from the Buccleuch Interchange.

At approximately 5.40am on 17 August, a police convoy was involved in an accident on the M1 South near the Marlboro off ramp while on its way to pick up a VIP. There were no VIPs in any of the vehicles in the convoy at the time of the accident and no private vehicle was involved.

It is alleged that a taxi suddenly changed lanes into the fast lane in front of the lead police vehicle, which forced the driver to brake suddenly. This caused the vehicles to collide with one another. One member was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown.
