Members of Alexandra Police Station arrested three suspects after a 39-year-old woman was hijacked in Kramerville.
The incident occurred at the corner of South Road and Edison Street while the victim was stationary at the intersection. According to Captain Molefe Mogodi of Bramley Police Station, three males approached the vehicle when one allegedly produced a firearm and ordered the victim out of her vehicle.
“The victim panicked and jumped out of the vehicle and the suspects drove away,” said Mogodi.
He said that Alexandra officers found the empty vehicle in Alexandra and decided to keep watch. “The suspects were arrested when they returned to take the vehicle.”
They will be charged with hijacking and possession of a hijacked vehicle.
