BREAKING NEWS: Two killed in Kelvin shootout

KELVIN – Fatal shootout between victim and perpetrator, another on the run.

Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect after two people were killed in an early morning shootout in Kelvin on 13 July. This is according to Constable David Mothapo, who said that at around 7 am, two suspects jumped over a Kelvin resident’s wall.

“The two suspects saw that the resident was about to drive out in his car. A confrontation ensued between the suspects and the resident.” Mothapo said the suspects fired shots at the resident who then retaliated and shot back. “Both the 43-year-old victim and one of the suspects died at the scene.”

Mothapo said the other suspect fled on foot, and two firearms were recovered. He also added that a case of attempted murder, murder and an inquest docket have been opened.
